The Martian: Bring Him Home – Out Now

Andy Weir’s The Martian is gaining a large amount of attention. Being released as a best selling novel in 2011, its unprecedented plot has got fans begging for more. Now it has been released as a movie in cinemas worldwide, starring Matt Damon. Of course, nowadays whenever a movie is released it is most likely going to be converted into an app one way or another. Not only is it a good marketing platform but another chance to develop a fun and interesting game. With that, Little Labs (a studio that focuses on apps for smartwatches) has released the mobile game, The Martian: Bring Him Home [$2.99].

The Martian is a story about an Astronaut, Mark Watney, who gets stranded on Mars during a NASA mission. The game places you in the shoes of a NASA communications specialist that is trying to get in contact with Mark Watney (Matt Damon) in order to bring him back home from Mars.

You get to communicate with the Astronaut in real time, getting notifications throughout the day; advising him with scientifically backed information will become a necessity; tracking his progress for health and safety is an obsession that you will undertake; and you will get to make collective decisions based on the opinion of a team of experts in order to save his life. Each decision affects how the story ends, so you can play the game again with different decisions in mind and different outcomes to follow.

If you are familiar with Lifeline, The Martian plays in a similar style. This title works perfectly for Apple’s Smartwatch but it also works without it, if you don’t have one. This premium game has no In-app purchases or advertisements so you are safe to get it if you are interested in The Martian. Essentially, the experience it provides is really entertaining and engrossing, so we highly recommend it based on our experience. You can watch the trailer for this game below.
