Goosebumps: Night of Scares – The Legendary Horror Fiction Goes Mobile!

As a child, no book series got me more entertained than the classic Goosebumps, a series of children’s horror fiction authored by R. L. Stine. Truly, they bring back so much memories and now with the Goosebumps movie being released; a game was only a matter of time. Goosebumps: Night of Scares [$4.99] brings to life the scary monsters that the series has revered for a very long time; and now available for iOS & Android.

From mummies to the evil gnomes; numerous monsters are featured in the game to bring the best Goosebumps experience to life. The game places you in R. L. Stine’s house where monsters from the books have come to life; thus entrapping you in his now occupied house.

The gameplay is in the form of a hide and seek adventure where you will have to hide from the unleashed monsters. Jump scares will become a reality in this first official Goosebumps game for mobile. R. L. Stine is voiced by the magnificent and funny actor, Jack Black; which he also stars as in the already released movie. He will guide you on how to survive your nights at the house.

The game is very similar to Five Nights at Freddy’s where with each chapter or night, you have to collect pages from R. L. Stine’s books to capture the evil dummy, Slappy. With each night, the number of pages increase; making it harder and harder to complete because you will likely encounter more unfriendly monsters as you search. If you are about to be caught by a monster, then find a hiding place as fast as you can and pray to God that the monster did not see you. After the monster is gone, you are good to continue your search. Turning of the light may decrease the likelihood of your exposure.

The game will feature infamous monsters from the series that has over 400 million books in print. Additionally, there is a Virtual Reality mode which brings the experience a little bit too real and is compatible with MergeVR or any compatible VR headset. This is certainly a game for all ages and worth checking out; it will excite the nostalgic old and terrify the vulnerable young. You can check the official trailer for this game below.
