We were all nervous and curious to see what Nintendo was about to unveil as its first mobile game today at an investors meeting in Tokyo, Japan. Since it partnered with DeNA, they vowed that 5 unique mobile games will be released before March 2017. The Wall Street Journal reported that Nintendo’s first game is a Free-to-play title called Miitomo.
With this new game, you will be able to create and customize Mii avatars and communicate with Mii avatars that belong to other players. It was added that character add-ons will be available through In-app purchases. However, how the game mechanics work is still vague. But we believe it will be somewhat similar to Nintendo’s Tomodachi Life which is a life simulation handheld video game where you watch over Mii characters and interact in their lives.
While the first mobile title by Nintendo was said to be released by the end of this year, it has been postponed until March 2016 so that they have enough time to promote it. Nintendo has mentioned that it will use a cloud transfer system to share data between platforms (mobile & console). Although Miitomo was announced as a freemium game, the next four games will be conventional premium titles.
Frankly speaking, we expected a much different game than what was presented but we don’t want to disregard this upcoming game. It definitely looks unique and we have to try it out before judging its content. Stay tuned with our website for more information regarding Miitomo.
