Futurama: Game of Drones – The 14 Year Old TV Series Is Coming Back As A Mobile Game

If you enjoyed watching the Fox TV series Futurama since its debut in 1999, then you are probably one of many who felt empty when the last episode aired in 2013. Miraculously, the two-times Emmy Award winner series is being raised from the dead in the form of a mobile game named Futurama: Game of Drones. It will be published by Wooga in partnership with Fox Digital Entertainment. It is likely to be a freemium game since all Wooga’s games have been Free-to-play.

The storyline for the upcoming game will be a very decent one considering the high profile writers working on the game:

  • Dave Grossman (Secret of Monkey Island & The Wolf Among Us)
  • Jonathan Myers (Game of Thrones: Ascent)
  • Patric M. Verrone (Futurama TV Series Writer)

The game will take you on a journey with Planet Express crew to fight against long-time rival MomCo. You will be assembling an army of delivery drones to deliver cargo to distant places to beat your rival. Of course, this risky process will be under ill-advised circumstances where you venture into memorable locations from the Futurama universe to solve puzzles.

Futurama: Game of Drones is likely to come out in 2016 although there has been no official release date set. We are looking forward to play this game since the show was amazing. It is definitely worth checking out if you have extra time on your hand.
