News about Pokemon GO seem to never stop, and we don’t want it to! In our Insider Article we talked about lengthy amount of details, and touched on how you can participate in gym battles, although it was a bit vague on how this would unfold. We want to discuss the idea behind gyms a bit more now. Knowing that gyms have been confirmed in the game, they will be rare to find, but a great opportunity to level up your Pokemon. This means you will have to do a lot of exploring in order to find a Pokemon Gym.
Clearly, the gyms will be virtual and can be detected with your mobile devices and perhaps enter them as you look into your device’s screen. Similar to the Pokemon games and series, collecting gym badges will also be a part of your adventure as you explore the world. So there is a big possibility that the gyms available in Pokemon GO are the ones that were available in the original Pokemon games. Which may mean that we get to battle gym leaders such as Brock, Misty, and Geovanni; which seems to be very likely and we will confirm this hypothesis once Niantic shares more information.
We mentioned that in order to ”Catch ’em all” you will need to trade with other Pokemon players. This is, after all, the idea behind Niantic’s game – to connect you with other people. Even Niantic’s CEO, John Hanke, emphasized how important trading is, “Pokémon trading is going to be huge. You can’t get all of them by yourself. If you want all of them you’ll have to trade with other players. Or you have to be someone who takes time off work and travels the world for a year. There may be people who do that.”
Finally, we see great potential in Pokemon Go and we know you are all excited for it and that’s why we are keeping the news about it alive and kicking.
