As big fans of the English Rock Band, Iron Maiden, we couldn’t wait to tell you about the insane news! In collaboration with Roadhouse Interactive, Iron Maiden has announced an upcoming RPG title called Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast. The band is well known to be interested in video games, especially since 1999 with their Ed Hunter game. On the other hand, Roadhouse Interactive is mostly known for developing Warhammer 40,000: Carnage.
The upcoming game is described to be an action-packed freemium RPG that is based on the Iron Maiden mythology. It is expected to launch this summer for both, iOS and Android. You will be playing as Iron Maiden’s mascot, Eddie the Head, and will be taking several forms while having special abilities. Here is the official description of the game: “Players explore new worlds, travel through time, and battle a cast of dramatic and engaging characters drawn from the expansive catalogue of Maiden’s albums and art.”
They further describe the gameplay to be enhanced with soundtracks based on the band’s songs throughout their entire career. In addition, they mentioned that unheard live recordings of the band will be included in the game. This sounds absolutely amazing! Iron Maiden & Roadhouse Interactive are working closely together to deliver an authentic Iron Maiden game.
The CEO of Roadhouse Interactive, James Hursthouse, said that, ”As a lifelong fan, I have always thought that Maiden’s music, lyrics, and cast of characters would provide the perfect basis for a deep RPG experience. With this game we’re creating an outstanding RPG that will appeal to all mobile gamers, including those discovering Maiden for the first time.”
It will be interesting to see how Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast will turn out. We have seen massive gaming companies develop games for mobile, but now that one of the most prominent bands is interested in mobile gaming, we definitely feel more confident about the future of this platform.
