Today you will meet Y’Shaarj, the third god from Hearthstone‘s next expansion, Whispers of the Old Gods. We first discussed C’Thun and N’Zoth, two terrible entities of the Old Gods which you can read about by clicking on their name. When coming to the third and biggest of the Old Gods, Y’Shaarj, things can become a little more interesting than the previous two. This ancient evil once led the largest empire on Azeroth. This malevolant entity was once a master of the political arena, and raised armies so powerful and committed to the cause that even C’Thun and N’Zoth were amazed. There are no happy endings with this relentless force.
Y’Shaarj may very well be the angriest of the gods. In a very distant past, Y’Shaarj was slain and ripped apart by the titans – not a good ending to a creature that will haunt the world of Azeroth. With its final breath, it cursed the land to be afflicted by the sha, creatures that physically manifest negative emotions. With the heart of Y’Shaarj surviving the bitter end and placed beneath the Vale of Eternal Blossoms; it was found and restored by Garrosh Hellscream, the former Warchief of the Horde.
The third god is able to grasp hearts and minds in order to lead them into devastating wars. Y’Shaarj’s card is a 10 cost Legendary, with the highest stats among the gods. With 10 Attack & 10 Health, it is able to put a minion from your deck onto the battlefield after every turn. There won’t be any battlecries triggered by this god, so let’s be clear on that. Although we haven’t tested him, we have noticed that some players have complained that he may be too slow and lack’s immediate impact for a card of that status.
Another card that we want to introduce is the Mark of Y’Shaark. This evil looking card gives a minion +2/+2, and if its a Beast then card can be drawn. Furthermore, there is the Ancient Harbinger, a master cultist that serves under Y’Shaarj. His mission is to make sure that you draw that God before the match ends. The Ancient Harbinger card has a 6 Mana, with 4 Attack & 6 Health.
Finally, we can see the vengeance that Y’Shaarj aims to bring upon Azeroth and the history behind its unstoppable anger.
