We have been talking about the upcoming update a lot and truth be told, we think Supercell will do a phenomenal job at balancing the game. Just recently, the company has posted in their blog post more details about what they plan to do for the next update. They will render the gameplay consistent from the Tournament Rules all the way up.
First of all, the level caps for some cards will be changed:
- Legendary level cap: 5 (from 6)
- Epic level cap: 8 (stays the same)
- Rare level cap: 11 (from 10)
- Common level cap: 13 (from 12)
- King level cap: 13 (from 12)
With these changes, there will be more consistency when playing with someone at the top or in a Friendly Battle under Tournament Rules. Furthermore, the amount of Epic cards needed to upgrade from level 7 to 8 will be decreased from 300 down to 200 cards. Players with level 8 Epic cards and level 6 Legendary cards will automatically be compensated through Gem refunds for every card over the cap.
Also, Legendary cards will now appear in the Shop more often once you have reached the Legendary Arena. The Gold cost of cards in the Shop will be re-worked to become more reasonably priced via a linear fashion (20, 40, 60, 80) rather than exponential one (40, 56, 78, 109). There are plenty of balances and new features coming in May, so stay tuned with our website to be updated on the latest Clash Royale news.
