Never Alone: Ki Edition – Explore A Culture Once Forgotten

There are great advantages to the mobile platform. Consider the fact that every PC or console game that makes its way to mobile is usually more than 50% cheaper than the original price. One recent high-profile game that comes to mind is Never Alone: Ki Edition [$4.99]. Voted as ”Best of 2014,” this title is priced at $14.99 on Steam, which is 3 times more expensive than the mobile version. We can all agree that pricing is a perk that the mobile platform is unrivaled on.

Yet the economic price is not the only attractive thing about this new title. Never Alone: Ki Edition was released by Publisher E-Line Media very recently, and it has garnered a huge fan base on PC, Xbox, & PS in a very short period of time due to its unique elements. The game takes the form of a puzzle platformer that focuses on the culture and folklore of the native people of Alaska, the Inupiaq. You will experience a fascinating journey with Nuna & Fox as they try to reach the source of a violent blizzard that’s endangering everything they know.

Stories of the Inupiaq people will be explored and arctic environments will be visited. This game is highly cultural and tells the tale of a people that the world has forgotten. The mobile version includes all the levels of the PC game but was redesigned for touch controls and visually enhanced. The developers successfully brought the arctic environment to life through a genuine portrayal of the hardships experienced by the locals and the merciless effects of the weather.

Many features will motivate you to play. For example, you get to unlock interesting videos where elders and storytellers of the Inupiaq community share stories and wisdom regarding their culture and beliefs. There is a compilation of 30 minutes of interviews available in the game. The gameplay itself includes running, jumping, and solving puzzles. Nuna & Fox, both have unique skills, and you have to utilize each character to help the other throughout their journey.

The game is called Kisima Ingitchuna in the native language which means Never Alone. Playing Never Alone: Ki Edition allows you to learn about the history, culture, and realities of the Inupiaq people, an opportunity that is welcome to all gamers that appreciate human civilization. We definitely recommend this title because it is much cheaper than its PC counterpart and delivers an educational adventure that should be cherished. You can watch the trailer for this game below.
