It’s about time that we learn more about Batman: The Telltale Series, don’t you think? We have been hearing all about it, yet no screenshots shown nor proper details shared. However, now we have what it takes to satisfy your curiosity. The game, of course, is designed to be an interactive episodic series where you explore the personalities of Batman & Bruce Wayne; making different decisions for each will result in different consequences.
Batman: The Telltale Series will be released for consoles, PC/Mac, and mobile devices too. As far as we know, its first season will consist of five episodes, most likely at the price of $4.99 each. According to several reports, the game will be released at an M (Mature 17+) rating, so it’s definitely targeting the older crowd of gamers. The game was privately shown to some guests at E3 and there has been a great amount of positive feedback regarding the demo.
Kevin Bruner, the CEO and Co-Founder of Telltale Games, describes the game best: “We’ve been hard at work at Telltale creating an all-new iteration of the iconic Batman story that puts players in the suit of billionaire Bruce Wayne, just as much as it will put them behind the mask, deciding how to carefully navigate a complex drama, rich with action, crime, corruption, and villainy lurking around every corner of Gotham City. The complex life and fractured psyche of Bruce Wayne has lent itself to becoming a bold evolution of the signature ‘Telltale’ role-playing experience, and we couldn’t be more excited as we prepare to debut the series to players across the world this summer.”
Now, let’s take a closer look at the voice actors that will bring the game to life. Troy Baker will take the role of Bruce Wayne in the game; he is well known for voice acting as Siris in Infinity Blade, James Sunderland in Silent Hill 2, and Joker in Batman: Arkham Origins. Travis Willingham will take the role of Harvey Dent; he is well known for voice acting as Superman in Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, and Green Goblin in Marvel Heroes.
Furthermore, there are more notable voice actors that are worth mentioning. Erin Yvette (The Wolf Among Us) will take the role of Vicki Vale, Enn Reitel (The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim) will take the role of Alfred Pennyworth, Murphy Guyer (Red Dead Redemption) will take the role of Lieutenant James Gordon, Richard McGonagle (Uncharted) will take the role of Carmine Falcone, and Laura Bailey (World of Warcraft) will take the role of Selina Kyle.
Finally, Bruce will have personal relationships in the game and there will be iconic villains as well, but the villains will be introduced at a later time. Telltale is also working on a non-photorealistic interpretation of the Batman universe to deliver a seamless living comic book art direction with the latest technology available. This is being performed under the guidance of legendary artists such as Jim Lee, Greg Capullo and Neal Adams. The game will be released this summer, so stay tuned with our website for the announcement. You can check the world premiere video for Batman: The Telltale Series below.
