Pokemon GO has got the entire world talking about it. The fact that Pokemon fans are exploring the outside world is truly unprecedented. Yet, it hasn’t been easy for the players or the citizens in these countries. We will share with you three unexpected locations that Pokemon Trainers have visited to catch their Pokemon. While some of the stories can be funny, some have a darker side to them.
The first story comes from the great continent of Australia. Apparently, players have been invading the Darwin Police Station over there to catch a Sandshrew! The police station has released a friendly yet important statement:
For those budding Pokemon Trainers out there using Pokemon Go – whilst the Darwin Police Station may feature as a Pokestop, please be advised that you don’t actually have to step inside in order to gain the pokeballs.
It’s also a good idea to look up, away from your phone and both ways before crossing the street. That Sandshrew isn’t going anywhere fast.
Stay safe and catch ’em all!
It is not surprising that the police officers know their Pokemon GO information; they are probably big fans of the franchise. The players are lucky that the police station has been understanding and friendly because in many parts of the world, police don’t take such a thing lightly and this can end in imprisonment or violence. So please be careful on your journey and try not to invade any buildings!
The second story comes from the heart of Europe where one player has been trying to go to a Pokestop that was located inside a Church! Well, let’s just say that Father Patrick wasn’t very pleased. The player was apparently trying to get some Pokeballs but didn’t realize that he can acquire them without entering the building. That’s a story for all of us to learn from.
It is the third story that got us wondering about each player’s safety. This time the story comes from the streets of Asia where a Pokemon Trainer has followed his game’s navigation system in search of Pokemon creatures but ended up in a dangerous neighborhood where he was almost beaten and robbed! Such situations are very likely to occur so make sure you know the area that you are trying to visit. The Pokemon that almost cost this player’s life was a Growlithe; was it really worth it?
To conclude, we want these real stories to be a lesson for you, dear readers and Pokemon fans, because we want to make sure that you are safe. Many places in the world can be potentially quite dangerous, so we advice you to know the areas that you are going to.
