Batman: The Telltale Series – Premiering August 2nd

Here’s a great surprise! Telltale Games decided to unveil the release date and trailer for Batman: The Telltale Series today. We will be able to get Episode 1 (Realm of Shadows) on August 2nd for $4.99. The new trailer can be found at the bottom of this page. It is exciting to explore the personalities of Batman & Bruce Wayne; making different decisions for each which will result in different consequences.

Kevin Bruner, the CEO and Co-Founder of Telltale Games, describes the game best: “We’ve been hard at work at Telltale creating an all-new iteration of the iconic Batman story that puts players in the suit of billionaire Bruce Wayne, just as much as it will put them behind the mask, deciding how to carefully navigate a complex drama, rich with action, crime, corruption, and villainy lurking around every corner of Gotham City. The complex life and fractured psyche of Bruce Wayne has lent itself to becoming a bold evolution of the signature ‘Telltale’ role-playing experience, and we couldn’t be more excited as we prepare to debut the series to players across the world this summer.”

Now, let’s take a closer look at the voice actors that will bring the game to life. Troy Baker will take the role of Bruce Wayne in the game; he is well known for voice acting as Siris in Infinity Blade, James Sunderland in Silent Hill 2, and Joker in Batman: Arkham Origins. Travis Willingham will take the role of Harvey Dent; he is well known for voice acting as Superman in Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, and Green Goblin in Marvel Heroes.

Furthermore, there are more notable voice actors that are worth mentioning. Erin Yvette (The Wolf Among Us) will take the role of Vicki Vale, Enn Reitel (The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim) will take the role of Alfred Pennyworth, Murphy Guyer(Red Dead Redemption)  will take the role of Lieutenant James Gordon, Richard McGonagle (Uncharted) will take the role of Carmine Falcone, and Laura Bailey (World of Warcraft) will take the role of Selina Kyle.

Finally, Bruce will have personal relationships in the game and there will be iconic villains as well, but the villains will be introduced at a later time. Telltale is also working on a non-photorealistic interpretation of the Batman universe to deliver a seamless living comic book art direction with the latest technology available. This is being performed under the guidance of legendary artists such as Jim Lee, Greg Capullo and Neal Adams. You can check the new trailer for Realm of Shadows below.
