Remember that story we covered about an Articuno being discovered, holding a Gym? The story blew up so big that Niantic had to comment on this issue. Well, believe it or not but the Articuno may have been real! According to Niantic, a few of the Legendary Pokémon have been granted to some Trainers by mistake. Yes, it is hard to believe but they have confirmed it.

Niantic further says that they were able to locate some of the Legendary Pokémon and ”brought them home safely.” So there shouldn’t be anymore random Legendary Pokémon running around your backyard. Fair enough but if only they left us one by mistake… Oh well, we will be patient. Furthermore, there are people who can fake Legendary Pokémon, so not everyone who claimed to catch one was truthful.
