FNAF: Sister Location – Too Scary To Be Released

In a recent update on his Steam page, Scott Cawthon, the creator of the Five Nights At Freddy‘s franchise has added a somewhat controversial comment regarding his upcoming game, Sister Location. He said that the game will be delayed and there is no information on its release date yet. ”The reason? You may ask. According to his statement, the game is too scary to be released as of now. Oh, we are not joking. Here’s the official statement:

Hey guys, I wanted to post an announcement that this game might be postponed, and I’m not really sure when it would be released.

There are certain plot elements that are very dark, to the point where I sometimes feel sick. There would be no easy fix to this. I either release it Friday as it is, or I delay it by several months to completely rework the plot into something kid-friendly.

I’m unsure what I’m going to do. As always, thanks for your support.

Now, Scott Cawthon may have forgotten that the Five Night At Freddy’s franchise is a horror series and it is supposed to be dark. In fact, in this genre, developers compete on who has the best fear formula in their games. A complaint on it being very dark that it makes you feel sick defies reason. A publicity stunt perhaps? If it is, then he sure succeeded because here we are writing about the game before its near release. If not, then we will have to wait until the game is rendered as a kid-friendly title.

Previously, it was set for release on October 7th for PC, although a mobile release was not announced yet. We still think he will release the game this month because Halloween is just around the corner (October 31st). If this is a publicity stunt, then PC gamers will be able to play it this Friday. You can watch the first trailer for FNAF: Sister Location below.
