It was previously announced that Antioch: Scarlet Bay will be released in March of 2017, but unfortunately it has been delayed until April 6th, 2017. This game is one of the most interesting games that we are looking forward to play. Antioch: Scarlet Bay is being developed by Mi-Clos, the makers of Out There, and the story is being written by Fibretigre, the writers for Out There. The game will be an online cooperative interactive fiction which is a sub-genre we haven’t seen before. We have become very curious to see how the game would look like in real-time.
In this game, you take the role as one of two detectives collaborating with another detective that is controlled by an online player, which can be a stranger or a friend. You will attempt to solve a crime and in the process of discovering evidence, you travel to Antioch, a dark metropolis surrounded by mountains and sea, to learn more about the evidence you found. The developers categorized the experience as a multiplayer gamebook and we couldn’t agree more.
The fascinating thing about the game is that you get to agree or disagree with your fellow detective. Just the idea of having someone solve a dark mystery alongside you is really appealing and an experience we haven’t seen a developer explore before. Antioch: Scarlet Bay will be available for Smartphones, Tablets, and the Apple Watch. You can check the trailer for this game below.
