Waypoint covered an interview with the CEO of Niantic, John Hanke, and what he had to say gave us more hope about the future of Pokemon GO. If you stopped playing the game, Niantic is working on new features to make sure that you will return to it soon. We expect to see two anticipated features to be introduced to the game, PvP Battles and Trading.

According to Hanke, if the company didn’t struggle with server issues during the game’s launch, then one of these features would have been out by now. Niantic will initially release abbreviated forms of the upcoming features before releasing the final forms in order to test them and improve upon them. In addition, the company plans to start Pokemon GO events on a global scale soon. It appears that the new features will be released this year, so stay hyped!
