Not only that, The Mojang Team have also added Command Blocks which allow you to execute commands that are activated by a Redstone. This feature gives you the power to grant players items without them having to use the commands.

Some new commands that have been included are: /title, /stopsound, /playsound, /clear, /difficulty, /effect, /me, /replaceitem, /spreadplayers, /testfor and /gamerule.
