Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 – Expectations, Speculations, and Theories

Every gamer is looking forward to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2. The great news is that it has been confirmed a year ago and is currently in development. While there is no release date yet, the expectations for this game is extremely high. Breath of the Wild is one of the most successful open world games for the Nintendo Switch and its sequel is expected to be similar or better in content and performance.

According to leaks that are quoted by TechRadar, the sequel is likely to be released in 2021 due to delays. Based on the trailer available, it gives a sinister vibe as it reveals Zelda and Link investigating an underground chamber beneath Hyrule featuring mysterious runes.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 trailer doesn’t show much but there are some clues found in it that can build a case for some theories. Near the end of the trailer, Zelda and Link appear shocked after a skeleton comes back to life. Who this might be is a matter of speculation but some are claiming it might be Ganondorf, the main antagonist in Breath of the Wild. Things are certainly about to become interesting in that sequel.

What is accurate about the sequel is that it will be darker than Breath of the Wild. The vibes you get from the trailer further proves that this is the case. Some of the speculations touch on the Twili, a race of shadow people that descended from the Hylian Tribe. It might be possible that we will be seeing them in the sequel due to some of the clues found in the trailer. If anything, there might be some truth to the rumors that the sequel will feature the return of classic dungeons, at least that is what the trailer hints at.

One of the most interesting theory is that Zelda will be a playable character in the sequel. The ending to Breath of the Wild shows her major role in sealing Ganon and achieving her destiny. While there are plenty of Zelda games, Breath of the Wild made her front and center of the plot. The rumors suggest that the game might support a co-op mode where both, Link and Zelda, are possible characters that can play side by side. However, this theory is unlikely because it will require a more powerful device than the Switch to have that much action on the screen, or at least the developers will need to optimize it better than they have done with Breath of the Wild.

Finally, we are looking forward to see what the sequel to Breath of the Wild introduces. We will most definitely keep writing more articles about Breath of the Wild and the upcoming sequel so be sure to stay tuned with our website.
