Pokemon Calyrex – The Mascot of Crown Tundra

The face of Crown Tundra is none other than the Legendary Calyrex who you will see on the packaging of the Crown Tundra Expansion Pass. Calyrex is described as a noble leader who ruled all of Galar in ancient times. This is why it is categorized as a King Pokemon. Don’t be fooled by its delicate appearance, it is highly intelligent and extremely powerful. In fact, one of its mysterious powers is the ability to see all past, present, and future events.

This Legendary Pokemon is both Psychic and Grass. It was first introduced in Generation VIII with Pokemon Sword and Shield, so it is one of the latest additions to the Pokemon world. There is no knowledge of it evolving from or to any other form. Its biology is interesting as it is described as a bipedal Pokemon will legs almost twice the length of its torso. It has the shape of a crown on its head surrounded by green spheres. It certainly looks majestic.

One if its main abilities is Unnerve. This ability in Pokemon Sword and Shield is described as the ability to unnerve opposing Pokemon and makes them unable to eat Berries during battle. The Bulbapedia website has an interesting explanation regarding the name of Calyrex and state that Calyx stands for bud in latin while rex means king in latin. This gives us the meaning of Plant King which makes sense since Calyrex is not only a Psychic Pokemon but also a Grass type as well.
