Everyone was excited when we learned that the remakes, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, were coming to Nintendo Switch. However, the bigger excitement was definitely for Pokemon Legends: Arceus. This game’s story is a prequel to the Diamond & Pearl games and takes place in the past in the Sinnoh region. It will be an open world experience much like Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Since the story unfolds in a long-gone era, part of your goal is to create the region’s first ever Pokedex since it did not exist yet. Pokemon Legends: Arceus features action and RPG elements while bringing the nostalgia of previous Pokemon games to life. Since this game is quite massive, catching a Pokemon will not be as simple as other games, in this one you will need to study the Pokemon’s behaviors, sneak up to them, and then throw the Poke Ball. It is much more realistic in its mechanism.

You will also be able to battle other Pokemon in an immersive experience. Like all previous games, you will be able to choose one of three starter Pokemon when you begin your adventure: Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott. This is quite an exciting adventure and while we don’t know much about the story yet, we do know that Arceus will be the center of the story. Since this game takes place in ancient memory, it will be thrilling to uncover the mysteries of the past.

Now if you don’t know who Arceus is, let us give you some information about him to know why this is an exciting game. Arceus is a mythical Pokemon and is known as the god & creator of the Pokemon world. Yes, you read that correctly! Arceus looks quite majestic in form and legend has it that Arceus shaped the universe with its 1,000 arms. This legendary Pokemon was first available in Pokemon Diamond & Pearl residing in the Hall of Origin.

So you see why Pokemon Legends: Arceus is quite exciting because it seems to explore the genesis of the Pokemon universe with a story about the creator of the Pokemon world! In the game, the Poke Balls even looked different because they were made mostly from wood so it is a totally different experience and what you learn and accomplish in the game will help future Pokemon trainers to start their journey with the support of a Pokedex & much of what you contribute to them.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus will be released in early 2022 so in a year from now, we should all be playing it. This is likely to be the best Pokemon game yet because of its story, visuals, and gameplay.
