The title of the article might have surprised you, especially in this day and age. But it’s morphing time and the Power Rangers are coming to mobile gaming stronger than ever. Not only a game has been announced but, also, an anticipated movie is coming out on March 24th, 2017. Power Rangers is a 23 year old franchise that was extremely popular since its start. Heck! I even had a Power Rangers costume when I was 5 years old and you know what? It was awesome. Got lost in the moment there, apologies.
Furthermore, the franchise was first debuted as Mighty Morphin Power Rangers by Saban Entertainment. Saban Brands has recently partnered with Triple-A game developer nWay to bring the mobile game to reality by next year. We can expect a high quality real-time multiplayer action game, which will definitely be quite interesting for such a franchise. According to Peter Levin, Lionsgate President of Interactive Ventures & Games, the Power Rangers mobile game will reach a console level experience.

Janet Hsu, CEO of Saban Brands, further adds that with their new partners, Lionsgate & nWay, they will ”connect millions of Power Rangers and gaming fans globally with a mobile gaming experience unlike anything else.” Sounds ambitious and we really hope that they can deliver on this promise. What Saban Brands further promises is an intense PvP experience that raises the bar for the genre and makes it an eSports action game for mobile!
Well, well, well. Who is not excited after hearing this? The game will be based on a rich universe of mythology that will bring a deep and detailed world to the gamer. Some iconic characters will be included in the game such as Rita Repulsa. Moreover, for Saban Brands to choose nWay as the developer is an interesting move. nWay is a developer and publisher of free-to-play multiplayer games and are well known for their mobile game, Chronoblade. This means that you can expect Power Rangers to be a free-to-play game but hopefully they won’t abuse the freemium model.
